The End of Lease Clean Checklist That Gets Your Bond Back

Bonds are rarely lost on the big things

They are lost on the details an agent runs a finger along: the top of a door frame, the oven racks, the tracks on the sliding door, the exhaust fan nobody thinks about. A property can look clean and still fail an exit inspection on those small misses.

Here is the checklist we work through, room by room, so nothing gets missed.

Kitchen

Inside and outside of the oven, racks and trays. Rangehood and filter. Cooktop and splashback. Inside every cupboard and drawer. Sink and tapware polished. Skirting, switches and the floor last.

Bathrooms

Shower screen and grout free of soap scum and mould. Tiles, tapware and mirror. Toilet cleaned in full, including the base and behind. Exhaust fan wiped. Cupboards emptied and cleaned inside.

Living areas and bedrooms

Marks off walls where they lift safely. Skirting boards, door frames and tops of doors. Light fittings and switches. Window tracks, sills and interior glass. Wardrobes wiped inside. Carpets vacuumed, or steam cleaned where the lease requires it.

The spots that catch people out

Window and door tracks, the rangehood filter, oven racks, exhaust fans, and the top edges of everything at eye height and above. These are the classic bond-losers.

When to hand it over

An end of lease clean is a big, physical job with an inspection riding on it. If your time is better spent on the move itself, this is the one to hand to professionals who clean to inspection standard, using low-tox products that are safe for the next tenants.
